College shopping

Good morning friends! I don’t know if it’s just me but summer seemed to fly by. I leave in about two weeks and I don’t feel ready! Are any of you guys also going to college in the fall? Have you started packing yet?

Since I have only a couple of weeks left, I really have to start packing and figuring out what I still need to buy.  I know there are others out there who are also preparing for college and who are, like me, overwhelmed with what to bring. So my hope for this post is that it provides some guidance on the basics of what you should bring with. I know for me it was helpful to hear what my friends were packing and just some fun things to decorate your dorm with! Let me know what you think, I hope you find this helpful!

Shop Smart

To start off I just want to mention that Bed Bath & Beyond has an amazing deal for all college students! If you sign up (use the link above)  with your school email you can get 20% your entire purchase + free shipping, every purchase until December 31st. One thing I really like about this is that they let you get things online but then pick them up at a store closest to your school. So if you’re like me and are going out of state you are able to purchase your items online and then once you get to college you can go over to the store and pick up all your purchased pieces!

Staying Organized

Another thing I am finding helpful is to create a list of all the things I need to bring with me. I broke it up into categories such as BATH, CLOTHING, KITCHEN, MIC, DECOR etc. and then created a list of things I will need to buy when I get there (things that are too big and would make traveling hard) and things I will need to do when I get there.

I have shared some of the items I included on my list. You may have different items I just wanted to include this to offer you an idea of things to pack. Screen Shot 2018-07-03 at 2.43.57 PM.png

Storage

The other day I finally got some storage pins to pack all my things into. For those of you who will be traveling a great distance from home ( or will be on your own when it comes time to move out), I would recommend getting plastic storage bins to transport all your things in. This way at the end of the year you don’t have to worry about buying boxes to store all of your things in. I’ll include a link below of the bins that I bought, but just make sure you don’t get ones that are too big and you end up having nowhere to store them.

I got two of these to store my clothes in. I love the size of these because they will fit under my bed perfectly!

If there is anything that you brought with you to college and found helpful or really liked but I didn’t list it above, let me know and I’d be glad to add it! Also, once I move in and decorate my room, I was thinking of doing a post talking all about what I got and how I decorated. If that’s something you would like to see let me know in the comments below!

XO,

Liv
